Hi, I’m Leah! I create authentic and engaging social content that resonates with audiences. I’ve worked in social media for almost four years now. Some might find the ever-changing world of social media overwhelming, but I love it! I consider myself a true digital native and I’m always up to date on the latest trends and pop culture.
Outside of my work in social media, I’m also an award-winning photographer, writer and designer. I have experience in web design, writing, copyediting, print and digital design, SEO, public relations, photography, brand strategy, advertising and editorial leadership.
Photography has been another passion of mine for more than 10 years now. It started when I would borrow my mom’s iPhone 4 to take photos in my backyard — I’m sure I thought I was a prodigy, but would probably cringe if I saw those photos now. I got my first DSLR, a Canon Rebel T6, a few years later and started taking photos for my school’s yearbook. As I improved my skills and learned more about manual settings, I eventually outgrew my original camera and upgraded to my current camera — a mirrorless Canon EOS R.
I started out as an art and business major at Washburn, but after only a couple semesters, I realized that it wasn’t quite the right fit. It was around then that I discovered the mass media department and student media. It was the perfect way to combine my artistic vision and my natural talents for advertising and entrepreneurship. I continued to improve my photography skills with the Washburn Review, Indigo Magazine (formerly Bod Magazine) and KAW Yearbook, and also learned many new skills in design, writing and marketing.
After graduating in 2022, I dove into the advertising agency world and took a job as a social media intern at Woodruff. After a few months, I was promoted to my current role of social media coordinator. Since then, I’ve learned a ton and have become an expert in the social landscape.
